White Linen Night – it’s one of the biggest neighborhood events Houstonians look forward to each year.  As a Heights residents, we take pride in neighborhood events like this to showcase Heights life.  So how did White Linen Night start?  It’s a New Orleans tradition that transferred to the Heights in 2006 after New Orleans residents relocated as a result of Hurricane Katrina.  It’s usually held the first Saturday evening in August so make sure you have your perfect white outfit and come out for live music, art and other entertainment on 19th Street, 11th Street and White Oak.

Lights in the Heights – the best neighborhood Christmas block party that takes place in the Woodland Heights.  It started about 27 years ago as small neighborhood gathering that now attracts more than 50,000 people.
