White Linen Night – it’s one of the biggest neighborhood events Houstonians look forward to each year. As a Heights residents, we take pride in neighborhood events like this to showcase Heights life. So how did White Linen Night start? It’s a New Orleans tradition that transferred to the Heights in 2006 after New Orleans residents relocated as a result of Hurricane Katrina. It’s usually held the first Saturday evening in August so make sure you have your perfect white outfit and come out for live music, art and other entertainment on 19th Street, 11th Street and White Oak.
Lights in the Heights – the best neighborhood Christmas block party that takes place in the Woodland Heights. It started about 27 years ago as small neighborhood gathering that now attracts more than 50,000 people.
Opera in the Heights – true gem of opera company in our community that was founded 19 years ago by three opera singers. It provides young emerging talents to have the main stream experience and opportunity. As a Heights residents, we truly appreciate the accessible and friendly opera that enriches our lives.
Spring Home & Garden Tour– one of our favorite events that is organized by the Houston Heights Association in spring. Don’t forget to wear your comfy shoes and hop on your bike or shuttle bus (provided with ticket purchase) to see featured six homes.
Great Taste of the Heights – a wonderful family friendly food festival graciously hosted by the All Saints Catholic community. It features delicious samples from local restaurant and live entertainment. If you are a foodie, don’t miss this event!
Annual Heights Fun Run – this family friendly walk & run event is not to be missed! There’s fun after- party at Marmion Park (18th & Heights Boulevard).
Bicycle Rally & Scavenger Hunt – this event name is pretty self-explanatory. If you enjoy biking and scavenger hunt, what are you waiting for? All ages and levels are welcome to this self-paced ride that is usually held in early October.
